Compose Function

The Compose Function Toolkit

New title

The Compose function provides the tools and processes to to initially define and begin and change initiative.

Compose as a function involves analysing the change initiative within the overall transformation project and assessing the impact of the initiative. Understanding the change impact starts with leadership from the sponsor to clearly define the change and need for change.

Within an initiative we can consider the compose function in three phases.

Phase 1: Clarify the Vision, Values and Strategy.

First the sponsor must clarify the vision, values, and operational strategy of the project and organisation.

Phase 2: Understand your Stakeholders and Change Impact

Next the sponsor must work to further understand the strategy and refine the business and programme benefits. This will be communicated to all other stakeholders in one form or another. Refining and understanding the business benefits allows the change team to create an effective communication strategy to engage all stakeholders, therefore this stage also includes stakeholder analysis and identification.
